§ 39. Mr. Gardnerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what proportion of the extra funds being made available for primary school building will be allocated for improvements to schools in rural areas.
§ Miss BaconNo extra funds are being made available for primary school building as such. If my hon. Friend is referring to the £16 million for educational priority areas, my right hon. Friend's predecessor announced in Circular 11/67 that he intended to concentrate action on districts in industrial towns and conurbations and other old industrial areas where the need is greatest. We are following the same policy.
