Mr. Edward M.: Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much was paid by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board to persons in Scotland in 1967; how much was repaid as a result of payments by offenders in the same year; and what were the comparable figures in 1966 and 1965, respectively.
§ Mr. RossFigures are not available for calendar years. From 1st August, 1964, to 31st March, 1966, £93,917 was paid by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board in respect of injuries in Scotland; £191,338 was paid from 1st April, 1966, to 31st March, 1967, and £217,993 from 1st APril,.1967, to 29th February, 1968. There were no repayments to the Board by the recipients in respect of reparation recovered by them from offenders in Scotland.

§ Mr. RossThis experimental scheme, subject to adjustments made from time to time, appears to be working satisfactorily for the purposes it was set up to serve. It is proposed to review the whole position when sufficient experience has been gained of its operation.
