§ Mr. Higginsasked the Minister of Technology what estimates he has made of the level of demand for sea and air passenger traffic on the North Atlantic route over each of the next ten years; and what share of this traffic he estimated would be carried by British ships and aircraft in that period, when he approved the Queen Elizabeth II and Concorde projects.
§ Mr. BennI understand that when the Queen Elizabeth II and Concorde projects were approved by the previous Administration, estimates were made of the prospective level of demand for sea and air passenger traffic on the routes on which the craft were likely to be used and that they showed that a significant share of this traffic should be carried by British ships and aircraft, including the Queen Elizabeth II and the Concorde.
