§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Minister of Technology if he will give details of work done in research establishments, subject to his Department, in the field of industrial aerodynamics, relevant to the construction of the Forth Road Bridge, West Lothian/Fife and the Tay Road Bridge.
§ Mr. FowlerThe design and erection of the Forth Road Bridge was guided by extensive research carried out by the Aerodynamics Division of the National Physical Laboratory. An account of this was published in the Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers in May 1967 (vol. 37, pp 87–108). No aerodynamic studies were made for the Tay Road Bridge.
