§ Mrs. Gwyneth DunwoodyThe Government offer a wide range of inducements to firms to move to or expand in the development areas, including the South Western development area. In the South-West outside the development area unemployment in February, 1968, was just below the national average, but the industrial development certificate policy is operated flexibly to take account of the problems of particular localities. Ten per cent. of the insured population of the South-Western region lives in the South-Western development area.
