§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that other than occasional spot checks, and in cases of accidents, no action is taken to enforce the various regulations issued by the Ministry of Transport concerning road fund licensing, roadworthiness certificates, insurance, lights, number plates, and similar matters; and, in view of the shortage of staff for enforcing existing regulations, what plans he has to enforce the new regulations on tyres.
