§ Mr. Hugh Jenkinsasked the President of the Board of Trade what study he has made of the report of the Confederation of British Industry, a copy of which has been sent to him, in which the majority of firms questioned stated that their output was below capacity; and what steps he will take to promote the fuller use of industrial capacity.
§ Mr. DarlingI have read the report my hon. Friend refers to with great interest. As a result in particular of the stimulus devaluation will have given to exports and import substitution, the Government looks forward to a considerable growth in home output over the next few years and thus an increase both in the use of existing capacity and in investment in new capacity.
