A continuous series of figures measuring changes in retail prices is not available for the whole period 1935 to 1967.

The following table shows the movements in (1) the Cost of Living Index and in average weekly earnings from 1935 to 1947 and (2) the Index of Retail Prices and in average weekly earnings from 1947 to 1967. Information about average salary earnings is available only from 1955, and therefore the figures for this date have been taken as equal to 100 in the second part of the table.

At 12th February, 1968 the percentage rates of unemployment for males in the Camborne/Redruth and Falmouth Employment Exchange areas were 5.0 and 5.3, respectively.
