HC Deb 07 March 1968 vol 760 cc150-1W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what he is doing to improve central policy machinery in his Department.

Mr. Healey

The various decisions which have recently been taken are set out in the Statement on the Defence Estimates, 1968 (Command 3540), Chapter I, paragraphs 21–36. These substantial changes are part of the general development towards a more unified control of policy, and we maintain a constant search for possibilities of achieving further improvements in the central policy machinery.
