Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Minister of Ariculture, Fisheries and Food what was the amount of subsidies and grant per head of population paid in Wales in 1967; and what was the comparable figure for England.

On the basis of the farming grants and subsidies paid in the financial year ended 31st March, 1967, the amount per head of population in Wales was £3 14s. 10d., and in England £1 7s. 4d. It was not possible to include payments under agricultural price guarantees in these calculations.
