§ Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of public concern about the rising price of food, he will, for the present, publish fortnightly the figures relating to food used in compiling the Cost-of-Living Index.
§ Mr. HattersleyThe Index of Retail Prices is calculated in respect of one day each month and prices of food are collected on that day only. Arrangements have been made to publish in the Ministry of Labour Gazette, starting with the March issue, average prices and price ranges for about 80 items of food used in the compilation of the index.
