asked the Minister of Power what are the figures for manpower employed and for production of crude steel as at vesting day and the latest convenient date for the British Steel Corporation.

Mr. Marsh

Manpower employed on iron and steel activities (excluding iron foundries) was 205,900 in mid-June 1967 and 205,600 in mid-December 1967; average weekly production of crude steel was 427.4 thousand tons in June 1967, and 430.9 thousand tons in January 1968.
