§ Mr. Gregor Mackenzieasked the Minister of Transport when he intends to delegate responsibility to local authorities for the siting of zebra crossings on their own roads in accordance with the White Paper, Public Transport and Traffic, presented to Parliament in December last.
§ Mr. MarshI am issuing a circular to local authorities giving details of the delegation arrangements. All control over the siting of individual zebra crossings is now being delegated to local authorities within a quota system based on their population.
