§ 70. Mr. Whitakerasked the Minister of Overseas Development whether, in view of the heavy burden which the pensions of ex-colonial officials were formerly on the Tanzanian economy, he will now resume development assistance to Tanzania.
§ Mr. PrenticeNo. The British Government, in order to avoid hardship to the pensioners, is having to make them advances with the result that the major part of Tanzania's pension liabilities is a charge to our aid programme.
