asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the total amount of aid received by Tanzania:—

  1. (a) in each of the three years before, and
  2. (b) since
the rupture of diplomatic relations; and also the amounts by which Tanzania is in arrear with payments under her various financial commitments to the United Kingdom.

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (LORD CHALFONT)

The total amount of aid received by Tanzania during the three years prior to the breach in diplomatic relations (which took place in December, 1965) and during subsequent years is given in the Table below.

Our records show that interest on the 1961 commutation loan is in arrears to the amount of £101,187 due last month.
