§ Dr. David OwenRoyal Naval officers take part as necessary in the arrangements between U.S. representatives in Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Government which were referred to by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of Stale for Commonwealth Affairs on 17th July. Visits of U.S. naval ships to Hong Kong are solely for rest and recreation, and on request Royal Naval officers may assist in arranging the provision of berthing and certain other facilities of the kind normally afforded during visits by naval vessels of a friendly power.—[Vol. 768, c.235.]
