§ Captain Kerbyasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will consult with the West Sussex County Council, with a view to a Bailey Bridge being erected over the River Arun at Littlehampton by the military, so as to relieve traffic congestion and as a temporary measure until the existing and unsafe swing-bridge is replaced by a new permanent bridge upstream.
§ Mr. BoydenThe Services are always prepared to consider requests from civil authorities for assistance with work if it provides good training and the agreement of interested parties has been obtained. I understand, however, that my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport is already considering the problem of the Littlehampton swing-bridge with the County Council.
