§ 67. Sir D. Rentonasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many of the dwellings in Great Britain are without a fixed bath or shower; what proportion they form of the total dwelling stock; and what are the corresponding figures for unfit and fit dwellings, respectively.
§ Mr. MacCollIt is estimated that at the end of March, 1968 there were 2¼ 197W million dwellings in Great Britain without a fixed bath or shower. This represents 12½ per cent. of the total stock of about 18 million dwellings.
About 1½ million dwellings without a fixed bath or shower are unfit. This represents about 70 per cent. of the total number of unfit dwellings. The remaining ¾ million dwellings without a fixed bath or shower are fit, representing 5 per cent. of the total number of fit dwellings.
I am sorry that some of the figures which I gave to the right hon. Gentleman when I replied to his Question on 14th June—[Vol. 766, c. 86]—were inaccurate.
