HC Deb 02 July 1968 vol 767 cc210-1W
Mr. Leadbitter

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the policy of Her Majesty's Government in connection with making available the results of research in chemical and biological warfare at the Porton Down establishment, Wiltshire.

Mr. John Morris

The purpose of the research at Porton is defensive and it is the policy of Her Majesty's Government to publish as much of the results as we can. A large proportion is, in fact, published. Some must, however, remain classified in the interests of national security.

Classified information is made available to allied Governments with which we have arrangements for mutual co-operation in defence.
