Mr. Thornton

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs (1) what proportion of Hong Kong's total external visible trade in 1967 were represented by imports and by exports; and what were the corresponding figures for each of the previous years from 1951;

(2) what proportions of Hong Kong's visible trade with the United Kingdom in 1967 were represented by imports and by exports; and what were the corresponding figures for each of the previous years since 1951.

Hong Kong's External Visible Trade, 1951–67:

  1. (1) with all countries; and
  2. (2) with the United Kingdom.

what were the corresponding figures for each of the preceding years from 1951;

(2) what proportion by value of Hong Kong's total imports pf machinery, electric, machinery, non-electric, and transport equipment in 1967 came from the United Kingdom; and what were the corresponding figures for each of the preceding years from 1951.
