Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether, when he advises local authorities on economies proposed under paragraph 51 of Command Paper No. 3515, he will suggest to them that economies should be effected in many cases in their departments of Town and Country Planning.
§ Mr. MacDermotNo. As Circular 9/68 made clear, it must be for individual authorities to judge in the light of local needs and present standards of service where the required economies can best be made.
