§ 107. Mr. Eadieasked the President of the Board of Trade on how many occasions he has amended the recommendation of the Board of Trade Advisory Committee; and what were the reasons for doing so.
§ Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody:My right hon. Friend has not amended the recommendations of the Committee. In the case of loans and general purpose grants he has no power to do so.
§ 108. Mr. Eadieasked the President of the Board of Trade what instructions have been issued to the Board of Trade Advisory Committee as a consequence of the Government's recent economic measures.
§ Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody:The general Directions to the Committee have not been changed as a consequence of the Government's recent economic measures.
§ Mr. Eadieasked the President of the Board of Trade what plans he has regarding the functions of the Board of Trade Advisory Committee; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody:The functions of the Committee arise from the requirements of the Local Employment Acts. The work of the Committee is kept under continuous review, but I have no statement to make at present.
