§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many students from the college of St. Matthias, Fishponds, Bristol, are expected to complete their courses and qualify as teachers in each of the next four years; how many of these are mature students; and what estimate he has made of the numbers of mature students who will fail to obtain employment after qualifying.
§ Miss Bacon251, of whom 60 are mature students, in 1969; about 290, of whom 90 are mature students, in 1970; and the same number in 1971. No estimate can yet be made for 1972. The college authorities and the nearby local education authorities recognise the need to ensure that genuinely immobile mature students obtain employment. I see no reason why, with their help, the mature students who qualify in those years should not find jobs.
