§ 119. Mr. Simon Mahonasked the Minister of Transport what action he has taken, or proposes to take, to examine further the proposal made by the hon. Member for Bootle and the hon. Member for Liverpool, Scotland, details of which are in his possession, for the stretch of the Liverpool and Leeds Canal from Ain-tree to Lightbody Street, Liverpool, that it should be drained, filled in, and reclaimed for industrial, commercial and civil usages; and what proposals he has received from the Inland Waterways Board in connection with such proposals.
§ Mr. CarmichaelI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to his Question on 9th December. I understand that discussions between the British Waterways Board and the local authorities are continuing.—[Vol. 775, col.5.]
