HC Deb 04 December 1968 vol 774 c506W
95. Mr. Kimball

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government, when he will be able to make a statement on the availability of the Derwent water from Yorkshire for north Lincolnshire; and, in view of the urgency, if he will give an assurance that if the statement cannot be given in December he will publish his conclusions by the end of January.

Mr. Skeffington

At this stage it is for the statutory water undertakers in consultation with the river authorities and the Water Resources Board to reach conclusions on how best to meet the demand for water in North Lincolnshire.

Naturally, my right hon. Friend wants to do everything possible to speed up a decision. With this in mind, a meeting between officers of the Department and all concerned has been arranged for early January.
