Mr. James Davidsonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether Scotland's share of the administrative costs of running Government Departments sited in England and Wales but with responsibility for the whole United Kingdom is included in the 11.7 per cent. of central Government expenditure attributed to Scotland in the quarterly report on economic development in Scotland published on 5th November.
§ Mr. Harold LeverSuch expenditure is generally excluded. A small element, comprising some £3.4 million of the total central Government figure of £975.4 million for 1967–68, does, however, relate to expenditure in this category.
