asked the Minister of Public Building and Works whether he will now make a statement on his decision to set up a Committee of the National Consultative Council to investigate the registration of builders.

Mr. Mellish

The decision to arrange for an independent inquiry into the Registration of Builders was taken by the National Consultative Council of the Building and Civil Engineering Industries, of which I am Chairman.

Mr. H. H. V. Forbes, Q.C., has accepted the Chairmanship, and I hope to name the remaining members shortly. They will be chosen from outside the construction industry.
