§ Mrs. Ewing
asked the Minister of Transport what plans he has to develop the deep-water ports of Invergordon, Scrabster and Loch Eriboll.
§ Mr. Marsh
It is in the first place for the port authorities or potential users to initiate projects for the development 185W of port facilities. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State and I are in close touch with the examination of the potential of the Invergordon area for the development of industry requiring deep-water port facilities which is being undertaken by the Highlands and Islands Development Board. Scrabster harbour is included in the study of the Wick/Thurso area by the working party recently set up by the Board. As for Loch Eriboll, there is nothing I can at present add to the Answer I gave to the hon. Member on 1st April.—[Vol. 762, c. 47–8.]
