HC Deb 29 April 1968 vol 763 cc108-9W
38. Mr. Hiley

asked the Attorney-General if he will set up a committee to examine the present county court rules with regard to possession cases, with particular reference to tenants who have left the address before a claim for possession is entered, and to recommend what improvement should be made to obtain an early order for possession once a claim has been entered.

The Attorney-General

The County Court Rule Committee is responsible by statute for regulating the practice and procedure in the county courts. The existing Rules make provision for the service of a summons for possession where the tenant has left the premises.

I am satisfied that there are adequate facilities for obtaining orders for possession rapidly in appropriate cases.
