§ Mr. Webster
asked the Minister of Power, on what criterion it is decided that public inquiries shall not be held when loss of life is sustained and a nationalised industry under his aegis is concerned.
§ Mr. Freeson
The circumstances of each case are considered separately. If the cause can be established by the 3W Inspectorate concerned, or where appropriate by the industry, it is unlikely that my right hon. Friend would direct a public inquiry to be held unless he thought there were special considerations in the public interest.
