§ 28. Sir C. Osborneasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received from organised bodies, for the reintroduction of corporal punishment for attacks of a brutal and savage nature on bank clerks, post office workers, and all who carry or guard large sums of money; and, in view of the growing public anxiety over these crimes, what steps he proposes to take to reduce them.
§ Mr. CallaghanI have received no recent representations on this subject.
On the second part of the Question I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which my hon. and learned Friend gave to his earlier Question on 4th April.—[Vol. 762, c. 128.]
