§ Mrs. Ewingasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has formed 254W since 7th February, 1968, to give assistance to local authorities who are out of pocket as a result of storm damage, so that a ceiling may be placed in each authority on the additional cost to the rates.
§ Mr. RossFinal settlements can be made only in the light of all the relevant information from each authority, including for example the proceeds of insurance claims. I have invited local authorities to submit claims for the period to 30th June, and on the basis of these claims interim payment of grant will be made this summer.
