§ Mr. FreesonThe current programme submitted by the Electricity Council and Boards provides for continued studies of improved techniques of cable insulation and cooling. In addition collaborative 209W work with the manufacturers will cover the general field of cable technology including the possible applications of superconductivity. The expenditure is of the order given in my Replies to the hon. Member for East Grinstead on 22nd November—[Vol. 754, c. 388] and 1st February.—[Vol. 757, c. 411.]
