HC Deb 08 April 1968 vol 762 c190W
Mr. Whitaker

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many communications, and in what terms, he has received from people who were witnesses of the demonstration in Grosvenor Square on 17th March; and what action he is taking as a result.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

Letters have been received from 12 persons who state they were present. Three expressing sympathy and praise for the police have been suitably acknowledged. Nine containing complaints against the police have been referred to the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis for investigation under Section 49 of the Police Act, 1964.
