§ Mr. William Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Defence when the regulation preventing married soldiers under 21 years of age from being provided by the Army with married quarters was first made; and whether he now intends to relax this regulation.
§ Mr. BoydenThe Army Council reduced the qualifying age from 26 to 21 in 1946. However, where a married quarter is vacant and it is not required for an entitled family it may be occupied by a married soldier under 21. I do not propose to introduce any further relaxations.
