HC Deb 03 April 1968 vol 762 c86W
Lord Hamilton

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what estimate he has made of the effect in a full year on the agricultural industry in Northern Ireland of the increase in the fuel oil tax announced on 19th March.

Mr. John Mackie

I estimate that the increase of 4d. per gallon in the duty on hydrocarbon oils announced in the Budget is likely to add about £85,000 in a full year to agricultural costs in Northern Ireland.
