HC Deb 03 April 1968 vol 762 cc90-1W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to set up a further or adult education college in the Highlands, at which a variety of courses, including summer courses, could be offered to a wide range of age groups on all aspects of Scottish language, literature and culture and Gaelic language, literature and culture.

Mr. Ross

None. The four older Scottish universities provide courses in various aspects of Scottish language, literature and culture, and three of them provide courses in Gaelic language, literature and culture. Classes in these subjects are also provided in day and evening further education centres in different parts of Scotland, and I know that education authorities endeavour to meet all reasonable demands.
