HC Deb 03 April 1968 vol 762 c91W
Mr. Edward M. Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has considered the proposal by the Lord Provost of Dundee, a copy of which has been sent to him, that a conference should be called of civic leaders in Scotland to discuss the steps to be taken to tackle the rise in crimes of violence; and if he will seek to provide funds to enable this proposal to be implemented.

Mr. Ross

No communication has reached me from the Lord Provost of Dundee but I understand that he is suggesting to his fellow Lord Provosts that they should meet to discuss means of combating crimes of violence. No question of the provision of funds arises.
