HC Deb 03 April 1968 vol 762 c99W
Captain Orr

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will make a further statement about the future of Bishopscourt Airfield; and whether he intends to use it any longer for military flying.

Mr. Reynolds

A joint military/civil air traffic control radar station is established on this site and is being further developed. Most of the remaining land has been made available for agricultural use.

Captain Orr

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will now make Bishopscourt Airfield available for the development of civil air freight transport.

Mr. Reynolds

I regret that this airfield does not possess the facilities necessary for operations by civil freight aircraft.
