HC Deb 03 April 1968 vol 762 c102W
59. Sir M. Stoddart-Scott

asked the Minister of Transport what plans she has for road improvements on the A625 between Harewood Bridge and Pool-in-Wharfedale, in view of the increase in the heavy traffic on this road; when a census of traffic on this road was last taken; and what is the reason for the increase of heavy traffic on this narrow road, which has three miles of twists, corners and bends.

Mr. Swingler

Responsibility for the road between Harewood Bridge and Pool-in-Wharfedale (A659) lies with the West Riding County Council, as highway authority, and they have not submitted any proposals for its improvement. A traffic census was last taken by the Council in 1963; we are not aware of any significant increase since then of heavy traffic using this road.
