HC Deb 02 April 1968 vol 762 c54W
49. Sir C. Osborne

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer on what statistical evidence he based his official forecast laid before the Trades Union Congress on 25th March, 1968, that unless the Government's latest wage freeze and economic plans worked, unemployment would rise to 1,500,000; and what plans he has for meeting that contingency.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

I made no such forecast.
