For North Western region, the information is available on a comparable basis from 1946 when the composition of the region changed to its present form. In March, June, September and December each year since 1958, unfilled vacancies for men and women have been analysed by occupation. There is no generally accepted definition of a skilled occupation but information can be given for certain occupations that are clearly unskilled.
