Earl of Dalkeithasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether, in view of the fact that timber and processed timber form the third largest single item of imports to this country, he will take immediate steps to stimulate the home forestry industry.
§ Mr. John MackieAs the Prime Minister announced on 19th October, the Government have authorised the Forestry Commission to increase their planting in Scotland to 50,000 acres a year by 1976 compared with about 32,000 acres a year at present. Grants are also available to assist private forestry.
