§ 59. Mr. Costainasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will amend the terms under which pensions are paid to retired civil servants so as to give protection against liability to forfeit a pension should a pensioner be imprisoned for an indictable offence, in particular, for an offence under the Road Safety Act.
§ Mr. DiamondNo amendment is necessary. A pensioner imprisoned for an offence under the Road Safety Act unconnected with his official duties before retirement does not forfeit his pension.
