asked the Secretary of State for Defence what was the cost in each of the last three years of fishery protection services provided by his Department in Scottish waters.

Between £700,000 and £800,000 a year.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what ships are employed, wholly or partly, on fishery protection duties in Scottish waters at the present time

In addition to the fishery protection vessels employed by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland, six Coastal Minesweepers of the Royal Naval Fishery Protection Squadron are based at Port Edgar.
