HC Deb 15 November 1967 vol 754 cc115-6W
79. Sir D. Walker-Smith

asked the Minister of Transport when her Department will conclude their consideration of the question of a pedestrian crossing on the A10 trunk road at the junction of High Road and Grenville Avenue, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire; and whether she is aware of the local need for such a crossing, particularly in the context of the safety of children.

Mr. Carmichael

The hon. and learned Member will be pleased to know that following a site meeting between the police, the local authority and the Divisional Road Engineer on Friday last, we intend to provide a pedestrian crossing near the junction of High Road and Bell Lane. A school crossing patrol started operating here on Monday and a pedestrian phase has now been incorporated in the traffic-lights at the Station Road Junction.
