§ Mr. Buchanan-Smithasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the result of his consultations with the Association of County Councils in Scotland regarding the establishment of a road construction unit.
§ Mr. RossThe road programme in Scotland for several years ahead can be satisfactorily dealt with by local authority engineering staffs and the employment of consulting engineers. When the programme for the 1970s has been built up the Association will be further consulted about the need for a road construction unit in relation to that programme.
