asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will state his plans for further industrial development in the North-East in order to reduce the number of unemployed persons.

The Government offer a wide range of inducements to firms to move to or expand in the development areas, including the North-East. These measures, together with the control over industrial development certificates in the more prosperous areas, will continue to encourage expansion in the development areas.
