HC Deb 08 May 1967 vol 746 c166W
Mr. Brian Parkyn

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) what estimates he has made of the workable reserves of gravel in the valley of the Great Ouse;

(2) what percentage of the total gravel worked in England and Wales comes from the valley of the Great Ouse.

Mr. MacColl

There are believed to be about 7,000 acres of workable gravel-bearing land in the valley of the Great Ouse. This area contributes at present about 2 per cent. of the sand and gravel worked in England and Wales.
