§ Mr. Cantasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will introduce regulations to ban the sale of electrical appliances whose flexible leads do not conform to a standard colouring code.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsI propose to make Regulations very shortly prescribing the colours to be used for the earth core in flexible leads attached to domestic electrical appliances. The colours will be those agreed internationally, namely, green or green and yellow. Similar regulations for the live and neutral cores must await the outcome of international negotiations on the colours to be adopted.
